About Me!

Hi everyone! My name is Izzy Pulido and I just graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with my B.S. in Animal Science and a minor in Spanish. I will be attending UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in the fall and plan on focusing on small animal medicine. I can't remember a time when being a veterinarian wasn't my top career choice and I am so excited to be embarking on this next chapter!

In my free time, I enjoy being out in nature hiking with my Aussie, Churro, and competing in triathlons! I swam competitively in high school and transitioned to triathlon towards the end of high school and into college. I recently competed in my first half-Ironman and absolutely loved the challenge! I also enjoy coaching and taught swim lessons throughout high school and was the head coach for the Cal Poly masters swim team.

Some other hobbies include bringing abandoned animals into my household and hoping that things work out. Our latest addition is Raven, a black domestic short-hair that was hit by a car and brought in by a good Samaritan. The clinic that I work for sponsored her surgery and then I took her home for recovery and my parents adopted her.

I am creating this website to document my journey through vet school and help students that are in or thinking about going into this profession. I will also be sharing study material, tips on the application process, and interview guidance!
